With the rapidly accumulating data relating dental infections to systemic involvements, particularly as contributing factors to the degenerative diseases, there is developing a distinct change in emphasis from the importance of the specificity of the organism to the important of the specificity of the host. In the light of the newer knowledge, we are chiefly concerned with the soil.
